The Schweikher House Preser­va­tion Trust  is pleased to offer tours of one of Illi­nois’ hid­den archi­tec­tural gems, Mod­ernist archi­tect Paul Schweikher’s 1938 home and stu­dio sited on 7 acres in Schaum­burg, Illinois.


Come see Schweikher’s mas­ter­ful inte­gra­tion of brick, glass and wood. Tours show­case an iconic brick fire­place, pas­sive solar room, can­tilevered con­struc­tion, exposed wood beams, built-in fur­ni­ture, a Japan­ese soak­ing tub, raked gravel court­yard, and gar­dens designed by the noted Mid­west­ern land­scape archi­tect Franz Lipp.   We look for­ward to shar­ing this fan­tas­tic home which is listed on the National Reg­is­ter of His­toric Places, and rec­og­nized by The Amer­i­can Insti­tute of Archi­tects as one of the top 150 archi­tec­tural sites in Illinois.


60 min. guided tours of the house and stu­dio are avail­able upon request, based on docent avail­abil­ity.  The cost of the tours are be $35/per per­son, paid in advance , with a max­i­mum of 12 per­sons per tour group.
